Southern Yellow Pine

Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) has long been a preferred species for home and other structures because of its high strength, resistance to wear and ability to hold fasteners. There is a broad range of uses, including: light framing, timbers, exposed beam and roof systems, paneling, siding, millwork, trim, patio decks, scaffolding, bridges, highway structures, and piers. SYP can be easliy pressure treated to greatly increase the service life by protecting the fiber from wood destroying organisms.
